Artist Statement
I have a BFA from Massachusetts College of Art in Art Education. Currently, I am taking full advantage of a once in a lifetime opportunity to work full-time as a studio artist out of my home in Newton, MA.
Right now, I am most interested in the growth and healing that happens over time and I am trying to find a balance within my artist self that is inspiring and not stifling. As a result I have granted myself some freedom and my work is in a variety of mediums: paintings, artist books, mono-type prints and journaling.
My work has a definite abstract quality and I am always trying to find the right amount of detail to balance that. I love allowing the rawness of materials and tools to stay behind as evidence of the process. I am working on blending my unique style of paste paper making with my strong desire to have emotional and spiritual content in my artwork.
